netboot/SUS Appliance VM requirements

Hi,

The documentation says the minimum system requirements are:
?? 100 GB of disk space available
?? 1 GB of RAM
?? Virtualization software installed that supports Open Virtualization Format

I need to load around 20-25 machines at the same time. Does anyone have any experience with the appliance set up to handle that (or more) and if so what have you specified as CPU, Disk Space, Memory etc

Regards,

David

David,

I believe when you load the OVA file it VM it configures those options for you.

Thanks,

We have a central VMware infrastructure so I was trying to see what it needs and whether those settings needed adjusting to improve performance.

I'll set up a test machine to understand this better

You may want to expand the disk space to something bigger. 200GB? Keep in mind that for each booted machine you're going to need some scratch space and if you're hosting your own updates you'll need space for those as well.

Thanks Jared,

Was just hoping that someone had a better handle on this but it looks like I'll just have to tinker with it if/when it becomes painful
