Hi All,
I'd like to remove Office 2004, install 2008, and upgrade to the web services edition of Entourage, in as much of a single shot as possible. Can I build a single package with 2008 up-to-date + WSE, and remove 2004 at the same time? What about automating the database import into web services edition at the end?
Thanks,
Jon

Yes

I would remove 2004 first
install 2008 fully patched.
What about automating the database import into web services edition at the end?
we did this manually to ensure the DB’s imported correctly

Any reason for not just going to Office 2011 and Outlook?

You can create a script to remove Office 2004 (leaving user data alone).
As of SP1 (14.1.0) Outlook can import data from Entourage 2004, 2008 and
EWS versions via AppleScript. Keep in mind that AppleScript requires a
user to be logged in and that Outlook be running. Nothing will silently
update/import from older databases.

I'd highly encourage that if in your budget/software contract to do so...

I still have a number of people on G5s, unfortunately. Hoping for the budget to upgrade, but we have an Exchange 2007 to 2010 upgrade happening sooner - which is prompting Entourage 2008 WSE at the least. I will be moving some people to Office 2011, though...
