Do these require a restart to take effect?
I created a new profile, assigned it to my test Mac and when I tried to install Alertus I still got the pop-ups asking to allow.
Out of curiosity I removed Alertus, rebooted, and re-ran the policy and it ran without pop-ups.
A little curious as to what happened.

Make sure the profile is on the machine before the program itself is actually installed.

It was. That is why I was confused that I got pop-ups the first time.
