prevent apps from pinning themselves to dock

Edge pin's itself to the dock on macos. I have to manually uncheck where it says keep in dock, however, I never wanted the app to pin itself in the first place. Is there a solution to prevent apps from pinning themselves to dock on their own?

If you're using pkg from Microsoft check it, whether it have any post install script to add edge to dock.

you can refer https://community.jamf.com/t5/jamf-pro/removing-default-dock-items/m-p/295901 for remove the added apps on the dock.

I have never seen Edge do this before, but there is a chance that MS added this to their post install script. You could just repackage Edge after installing it on a lab device and deploy that package, or use Jamfs Mac App Installers to handle installing Edge.

Do you run any sort of setup script or have a Dock item in your policy that installs Edge that would be adding it tot he Dock? If not, what is your source for Edge installer you're running? The Edge .pkg installers released by MS (at least the most recent ones) do not have anything in their postinstall script that would add the app to the Dock so try replacing your installer .pkg with one downloaded direct from MS: https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2093504
