push out a script that has instruction blob

I have a script (?) that apparently has an 'instruction blob' with it.
How can I deploy this through casper? Pushing it errors out as needing
a -install so I placed -install as a parameter and it doesn't seem to
care....

John-

Are you trying to execute the script to run, or just place it on their macs for future execution?

We normally make a package and place them in /Library/Scripts

I've never seen anything like it, when I manually copy it to a box and
do a sudo scriptname -install it copies a bunch of files and does it's
thing.

The 'script' file itself is like 5mb, so I assume whatever it copies is
somehow inside of it. The verbage in the casper error log is
"instruction blob". There's also no extension on it, it's just the name
of the file.

Trouble is that I can't do a before/after shot as part of it's voodoo is
that it generates a unique ID for the system.

John,
Any chance this is the McAfee Agent install script? Sounds exactly like it, which I'm revisiting right now too!

If you need to install as a policy, you could create a package which drops the script somewhere like /tmp and then use the Advanced tab of the policy > Run Command to execute the script. (least I think that would work). If not, simply add a one liner script to the policy to execute the script. (sounds stupid, but would work.

Getting this to install at imaging is less clear for me, as you mention, needing the -i command to execute it...

You might be able to use Composer/Monitor File System Changes and run the install script with the machine unplugged from the network. That will prevent the agent from talking to ePO before you can wrap up the package. I think that's what I did on another account last year.
