The last week we are getting reports that people are loosing the Self Service app on there Macs.
Anybody in the same situation? We're in the cloud with version 11.10.1.

We’ve seen this behaviour with clients whom used a custom name for Self Service (eg an empty one or with special characters). The self service app installs correctly, renames itself and disappears.

Are you doing any customization to the app name?

It seems like the issue might be related to the Jamf upgrade. During the check-in after the upgrade, the self-service system also gets updated to the latest version. If there are any connectivity problems during that time, it could happen. You can run a recon and Policy on the affected machines to install the self-service if it’s not already there.

Check your install log, Jamf log, System Profiler and the Package Register. @Shyamsundar has the same hunch I do. When Jamf upgrades it pushes a package out that updates self-service, I'm wondering if that package is failing for one reason or another.

You can also run JET and see if all the necessary ports and hosts are open for Jamf. JET has not been updated in a while, but still has most of the necessary stuff for Jamf Pro baked in.

Yes, we did. But now we turned back as it was before. Problem confirmed that it had to do with the customization. Thanks for your information.
