I'm sifting through the NetBoot logs for clues, in the mean time one of our NetBoot servers is being moved to the server room so it's connecting directly to the switch (proper segment of course).
Has anyone seen this strange "throbbing" (as it was described to me over the phone) icon, when holding OPTION key at reboot (since holding N does not work)?
Once the NetBoot server is moved and I have access to the NetBoot logs, I'll have more info, sorry for posting early without the expected details... :)

Network issue.
I had a tech Fluke the drop using a LinkRunner Pro and it came back with some errors. I had them move the server to the closet, connected directly to the switch, it's working fine now.
PS, still not sure about that funky pulsing icon...but it's moot now...

AFAIK, the pulsing icon is the computer trying to find a network bootable OS. If it's continually pulsing and not networking it can be anything from not getting an IP address not seeing a bootable network OS.

@uts_cassian On the newer Macs we get a large(r) blinking globe, followed (very quickly if you blink you'll miss it) by a black Apple icon over a small rotating globe, and finally black Apple icon over circular progress icon.
I guess what you're saying is right, since it's an old(er) iMac. Luckily we were able to identify the problem quickly. I'll send the Fluke LinkRunner Pro report to the network team so they can do something about the connection.
Thanks!
