Hi, @dmichels! In regard to the Jamf Pro Add-Ons/Third-Party products — we communicated in a post to the Jamf Nation community last week that this section was being shifted to another location. The space had very low usage, as well as outdated content. In order to help mitigate the risks of Jamf Nation members finding and using outdated materials, we asked that content move. As Sam showed in this thread, we’d love for our eligible developers to post their content within their Jamf Marketplace listings. If you’re not a partner, we now added the ability for you to add personal website and GitHub accounts to your profile. Please continue to share your resources in those spaces as a way to continuously help our Jamf Nation. Thank you for your continued focus on helping this community succeed with Apple!

Dear Jeni,

I sincerely would like to contest this -
there have been plenty of Users like @mhasman@H3144-IT and others
that kept "Third Party Products" up-to-date...

It helped me a lot been proactive with updates delivery to our environment;

it was easy to share with community if find new updates myself - hope it was useful for others;

it was super-effective just to look here at community posts 2-3 times a day instead of manually checking most recent applications for updates;

...and all other "updates" websites are 2-3 days behind...

@JeniA , that post you indicated doesn't state that the Jamf Third Party got moved to another, it only states it got shifted out of Jamf Nation. Whatever that means. If it did get moved to another location, why wasn't that included in that post?

I still have no idea where I should be looking for the post for third party
products?

@dmichels and @junjishimazaki - We asked that the relevant items be moved to https://marketplace.jamf.com/. Content that was no longer relevant, or that wasn't moved, is no longer available. Of course we encourage everyone to share their GitHub accounts on their profile pages if they have resources to share.

@JeniA , thank you for the update. It's not the end of the world for me. I can go directly to the vendor sites and get what I need. It was just convenient to use Jamf Third Party to search and get what I need.

I really wish this didn't go away. It was very convenient for me and my team to find relevant apps and patches.

@JeniA First off, I am not understanding why you are comparing Third Party Products to the Jamf Marketplace.  Jamf Marketplace is a place for vendors to advertise their Jamf integrations.  Third Party Products was a community managed page where you could go to check to see what the current versions were for various applications listed there and additionally find download links and links to beta/preview versions whether or not they were related to Jamf Integrations.

Second, I don't understand why you keep stating Third Party Products had a low usage.  This wasn't low usage and was being actively managed by the community as I saw dozens of applications a week getting version information updated with notifications appearing on main Jamf Nation page!

Third Party Products was a great resource for new and experienced Mac/Jamf/IT admins alike to find current application versions for many different applications and sometimes from software vendors that have Mac software but don't openly communicate with the Mac admins very well.

Even though I have various other ways to find about software updates this is one of the few places I was able to subscribe to update notices for about 80% - 90% of the software that I manage packages for.  Since it was managed by the community it didn't rely on whether or not vendors signed up.  Some enterprise software vendors wouldn't bother to keep their own websites current let alone a community page, or now a Jamf Marketplace page, like this updated for the latest version info and download links to their products which is why it is great that admins from the Jamf community were doing this.

I know there are other tools out there to do this but this was a nice low requirement "low tech" resource for finding this information and it was nice to be able to subscribe to applications and get emails when versions were updated as it was a great backup in case I missed an update from one of my other sources.

Thank you for all of your feedback, @spalmer. We built this version of Jamf Nation based on community feedback, and we'll continue to iterate/improve over time with all of the community feedback we receive in mind. We appreciate that you took the time to draft a thoughtful post. Have a wonderful day and please reach out with any additional questions/thoughts!

yes jamf, please bring back the Third Party Products page. I used this all the time and is very big in our Educational environment.

I too found the Jamf Nation Digest listing Third-Party Product updates to be very useful and accurate.  It will be missed on my part.

Thank you for this feedback, @mark_sampers@mhasman is going to create a feature request for this to be brought back. It would be great if you could upvote it to show your support. 🙂

You, sir @mhasman, came up with a brilliant solution! As I stated previously, we removed this section because our data told us that it wasn't heavily utilized. Yet - now that it's gone we're hearing a different story from you all. And we want to make your lives easier (you all have way too much work as it is!), so if it's something the collective community needs, we want to know that. I think creating a feature request is a great way to show support for bringing this back in a manor that supports everyone. Thanks for the idea!

Now I need to learn how to create a feature request with new site 🙂

Yes
this Website has a Learning Curve,
which is a pity !

It should be well document in the Feature Requests FAQ space, but if you have question, don't hesitate to reach out! 🙂
