Unable to search for Apps

We are unable to search for apps to configure for self service, it was working fine up until about a week or so ago, and we are wondering what has changed, that has caused this.

We had a similar issue previously regarding to proxy settings, which was fixed by the contracted installer.

I believe it is related to the proxy settings of tomcat, and I was wondering if anyone can clarify where these are managed?

Is there anything else that could prevent the searching?

frustratedly our proxy is not managed by us, and at times settings are changed beyond our own control.
