Your choice for Small business remote access?

Well, the idea of Jamf Remote was wonderful... it's not reliable in any manner.

We have a number of small businesses we support.  Teamviewer is for our enterprise clients but the cost is a bit much for many SMBs.

What do you use for your SMB clients when you have to balance cost vs features?    I know the options, just looking to see why you use what you do [Jamf shop for most clients.  ]

  • Zoho Assist?
  • Tailscale with Screen Sharing?
  • Anydesk?
  • Splashtop?
  • LogMeIn?

When I see SMB my brain goes directly to Server Message Block, which is share drives. However, I think you are meaning Small and Midsize Business from the way your post is worded. Please correct me if I am misunderstanding.

The tools I have had the most luck with are BeyondTrust Remote Support and Control Up Edge DX, but these are both firmly enterprise positioned tools. Jamf Pro also has a screen sharing client built in which comes with the product. If you are on prem or have a VPN Apple Remote Desktop may be an option.

Ack! Thank you.  Changed the title to small business...  Appreciate the input

Jamf remote assist is a no-go.  It's been unreliable, hence my question - but Thank you !

Ya, we also don’t use Jamf Pro's screen sharing. It’s a barebones product with no frills, and my organization unfortunately requires many many frills like session recording and activity logging (who is controlling the mouse and keyboard at what time). Yay for highly regulated industries.

BeyondTrust here as well. Also, still prefer ARD.

Also use Teams screen sharing, and have them grant remote control access. We use this in a pinch too when convenient.
