See title, what can be the reason for this? We suspect theft, but I
would expect the Mac (known serial number) to show in Computers, but not
checked in recently (because the thief has re-installed Mac, and has not
connected to internet during setup.)

Your approach to replace the file with a policy may work.

If the Mac gets a enrollment profile, it will use that, and NOT ask
again (seen that when I change the prestage assignment too late).Common

@ukcasey With both updates you reference to, the /etc/sudoers files is
overwritten.I would advise to take a look at this file (and the
'included' files) on affected mac's. (You must be very carefully to edit
this file, see man visudo).Maybe resetting...
Are you referring to the option in recent versions Jamf Pro to disable
(NOT 'Allow export... as seen in attached screenshot) the export of
certs mangaged by a profile?! Otherwise, if the private key is 'owned'
