Recently, we have had an unusually high load on our network.
After digging into the problem a bit, logs and such, our suspicions have targeted our Jamf environment (Jamf Pro Cloud). We have discovered that a lot of traffic comes from AWS and in logs we also see the text "appinstaller".
Once a year, when schools start after the summer, we install and distribute Mac computers to students. Since the turn of the year 2023/2024, we have added automatic installation of M365 - Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook and Teams. So we suspect that the hard load obviously has something to do with this.
However, it would be interesting for us to get a report that shows what has been installed, when and to which computers (or to whom) within a specific date range.
Is there any way to produce such a report in Jamf?

@jonros I can't speak to creating a report of what the Jamf App Catalog has installed, but I can say that using that mechanism to install, and update, Office app will incur significantly higher network traffic than using the Microsoft Office Business Pro installer for the Office suite and configuring Microsoft AutoUpdate to manage updates. That's because the App Catalog uses individual installers which will each contain the common components of the Office apps as opposed to a single copy in the suite installer. For installs the suite installer with a ll the apps is about 2.9GB and while the individual app installers each being over 1GB. For updates only MAU can apply the delta updates such are typically in the 2-300MB range while App Catalog updates will use the full app installer.

Thanks a lot for the information.
I will bring this regarding Office and Jamf App Catalog with me for future installations.
I primarily chose to install via the Jamf App Catalog as Buisness Pro installs Teams Classic and not the latest (might have changed at the time of writing perhaps).
But if you turn off the automatic installations of Office via Jamp App Catalog now, will already installed applications be uninstalled/deleted from users' computers?

The current Business Pro suite installer does install "New" Teams, but Microsoft now uses the name "Microsoft Teams.app" for "New" Teams so it can be confusing.
Turning off an App Catalog install should leave existing installs in place.

Thanks a lot for your information once again. :)
Last time we used Business Pro (not long time ago) it installed Classic. Time to update the package.
