I'm upgrading my server to 8.21 and the release notes say "New Self Service for Mac OS X" but I can't seem to find it.

I've not yet received an email with a link to download version 8.2. As Zach said yesterday "you should all receive an email from your JAMF Software Representative in the next 3-4 business days".
How were you able to get a copy? Maybe you should contact support.

Not flaming anyyone, but JAMF tries to send out the emails of the upgrade notifications to customers over a 3-4 day window. They spread this out so that they don't overwhelm their support resources.
If you have an immediate need to have the new version, please email support. Otherwise, please don't post the (too easily guessable) download links to the mailing list.
Posted on 07-22-2011 09:08 AM
I'll second that.
Posted on 07-22-2011 09:12 AM
Huh. I thought they emailed them out in the order of how much they like you...

That can't be true, I would have gotten it first.

Wait, don't the grade it on the amount of l33t points you have for number of
awes0me p0sts on the list?

Did JAMF not include the "Windows Package" for install a JSS on a Windows Machine? I know they said they were going to do this.

"...over a 3-4 day window... so that they don't overwhelm their support resources" Oops :) I thought it seemed a little slow from our 400mb pipe. Time to upgrade, bandwidth is cheap.

Hahahaha!

Thanks all. This is great.
I can't seem to find a "What's New" portion of the included documentation With the changes in Lion, I was hoping that JAMF would have some new features to manage them.
Any clues? Thoughts?

DVD? You might want to check to see if that was for Casper Suite 6.x or
something.

Yeah, cuz you don't have brownie points for hosting events I can make it to. ;)

Not to beat this dead horse more, but I think they're referring to support resources as all of their people in Eau Claire that need to answer the phone when every customer gets their shiney new 8.21 installer and upgrades their JSS before backing it up and that process lets the magical smoke out of the server....
If they're hosting the download on S3, not even the largest hacking organization in the world was able to throw enough traffic at it for people to notice!
As far as getting the download link, I haven't seen mine yet, so I think Steve is right and it is based on the l33t points from the number of awes0me p0sts... Mine have been low lately. :-

Well played sir, well played.
And to Craig, well, I guess you're just going to have to host one I can't attend now....
To other Twin Cities area Casper users, I'm hoping to do something in September after we get classes back in session... With the network/phone project I'm on this summer I just don't have the time to host anything right now, but I hope to get back into the swing of things this fall! All of our 'N key bolts' have been in use the last several weeks though imaging like mad.

Does anyone know where to get the Plugins that they show in the pic in the JAMF Nation? Particularly the Webhelpdesk and the Webex? They are not in the Resource Kit.
Thanks,
Marcus
