Trying to get users upgraded to the latest Big Sur. Software Update shows a red button indicator, but on opening it never finishes looking for updates. The softwareupdate -l command shows a similar result... it just sits until it's cancelled.I though...
In the olden days (Catalina and prior) we used the Software Update option to let users install any Apple software updates available (this doesn't include upgrades like 10.15 to 11.x, but just 10.15.x to 10.15.x+). But obviously this doesn't work now ...
I thought that approved KEXT through MDM clients (i.e. Jamf) were still doable.But the approved KEXT configurations policies I've tried to setup for my Monterey test machine all fail. Is this expected behavior? Are KEXT finally dead-dead?And without ...
For multiple reasons (mostly legal) we do not want users erasing data from their machines. I've looked but don't see anything obvious in Configuration Profiles in Jamf 10.32 so I'm guessing at best there might be a custom MDM config.
