Welcome to Self Service+ 1.0.0! Self Service+ is Jamf’s new end user portal that helps organizations develop an autonomous and security-aware workforce. With Self Service+, employees are empowered to request, download, and update apps for their Macs, view the security of their endpoints, manage all notifications in one place, and learn how their data is handled with respect to privacy, all in one central, intuitive portal.
Downloading Self Service+ is available on Jamf Account. Thank you.

The release video mentions you can customize the branding of Self Service+ but I see no such options after upgrading my instance to 11.13. I do have Settings > Branding > macOS Branding already configured and it does change the regular Self Service but not Self Service+. When I install Self Service+ pkg I am left with regular Self Service and Self Service+. How do I completely replace the regular Self Service and brand it according to my specifications?

HI @dletkeman The current branding options available in Jamf Pro will showcase on both Self Service and Self Service+. We are still iterating on the admin workflows around branding in Jamf Pro to streamline this and make it easier for our IT admins. We also are working on deploying from Pro where an uninstaller would remove the version of Self Service not deployed given the scoped devices. We're working hard to smooth out some of these wrinkles. Thank you!

Thanks. After a reboot I do see Self Service+ reflect my branding. Except for the name. We rename Self Service to Software Center for consistency vs. our Windows computers. Will this also be reflected at some point? The name shows in the Self Service+ app but the application iteself is not renamed to Software Center. Thanks for ironing out these things. Not too worried yet as I don't have to immediately push this out. Just checking on things before considering that.

I am looking to get an answer here on this specific @dletkeman . To my knowledge this should be a supported branding element but I simply wish to double check that with the product owners and team.
Update: we did find an issue with the naming element of the actual application that has a team dependency. It's in flight to be fixed! Thank you for the feedback.

After we have deployed/installed Self Service+ to our environment, will it take the place of the original/old Self Service.app?

We have a backlog item in flight to address the uninstallation of the version you are not utilizing with your organization. Good news tho, this body of work is in planning now.

will policies that have "Make the policy available in Self Service" set show up in Self Service+?
Yes. Shows up for me.
Anything you see in Self Service shows up in Self Service+ but it looks stightly different. More compressed and cleaner in my opinion.

Thanks. Find this text on the about Self Service+ page odd. They do not mention just polices by themselves
Browse, search, and install configuration profiles, Mac App Store apps, and books

Jamf may correct me but the way I think of Self Service+ is basically everything Self Service offered but slightly more, with a new coat of paint.
Not enough to make it unfamiliar to users, but it will definetly look a bit different. Based on their announcement at JNUC 2024 other products will be interegrated with it, like Jamf Protect and Jamf Safe Internet. I can see Jamf Protect integration in my instance right now, which is nice. Can't do much beyond confirm that it's protecting the computer on the devices I've tested it with, but nice nonetheless.
Interested to see where this leads.

The admin workflows in Jamf Pro setting regarding Self Service+ are indeed up and coming.

Hello Sara
My ID Jamf only own a EVAL Jamf Pro license, how do I get version 1.0?
My account can only download 0.16.1
I work MSP, but I dont have access to customer prod license, only the Jamf Pro tenant

Hello @RaxiaDK - we are supporting Jamf customers with this product launch, and therefore a product license is needed to experience Self Service+.

Thanks for all the hard work on the new self service! I love the new design and have seen launch performance improvements on all the systems we've tested so far. One suggestion I'd have is to eliminate the "+" and just keep it as "Self Service". As some folks have also said, we'd also love to see documentation on these 2 workflows / scenarios.

This would be a desired workflow.

I have to believe that once the transition to Self Service+ is completed, Jamf will update the console to deploy this new application after enrollment in favor of the old one. It's just that it's early in it's release (hence why the separate download link right now) and with the 11.13 Jamf Pro version they probably weren't quite ready to make that change. I do think that's the next step though, once they work out of some the early issues.

Thank you so much for the feedback @deboerOT , @dletkeman , @mm2270 ! We love hearing how much you like the overall improvements of Self Service+. The name was heavily considered so that you, our customer, knows we are driving to bring you/your end users more than just "classic" Self Service.
We are diligently working hard on ensuring our admin workflows are supported in the Pro settings pages. Once those are ready, we will bring you the option to select Self Service+ as your end user portal of choice and uninstall the version you are not selecting. Stay tuned for these updates.

Looking promising!
Some feedback:
- nice clean UI and Home screen, more compact and easier to view.
- Login / Log Off, sometimes accidently clicking on your name will log you off. The previous Self Service would have a popup to "Log Off" where has the one click on your name in SS+ will log out immediately. This can become rather annoying.
- Listing every category an application is assigned to can look very messy, especially in the featured content section as it lists them all in the header.
- No History, this has been removed, No quick way users can see what was installed previously and when.
- Many functions assume you have licensing for other Jamf products, so the sentence in the home screen about security, endpoints and privacy could confuse users.

The option to turn of these panes would be very welcome. And an option to change the default selected pane when opening the app.

Thank you for the feedback @MikeyK -great suggestions. Some of the mentions will get refined in future releases of Self Service+, especially the Login/Log off element you mentioned. That is in flight now to iterate on.
I really like the mention on the home screen verbiage. I will take this one and discuss with marketing the confusion with the messaging.

Will will be able to modify the welcome banner (Image attached). Additionally, it says users can request applications. Is this a feature that will be available for macOS or only stay true for iOS devices?
Tuesday
The branding settings of Self Service will modify both legacy(classic) Self Service and Self Service+. We are working on easier admin workflows in Jamf Pro now to assist with this workable yet clunky solution. The sub-header siting "request" has been brought back to our marketing team for re-evaluation. Currently requesting apps is only on iOS devices.

Looks nice! However...
I've just installed this on my machine, and opening Self Service+ fires up macOS Onboarding, even though onboarding already completed using "Classic" Self Service months prior. Is this a bug, or do I need to push out a different script to tell Self Service+ that onboarding has already completed?
a week ago - last edited Tuesday
I wanted to confirm with the team @SuperDuperRob, the onboarding workflow should launch independently of the installation of Self Service+. If the status flag for the machine(s) was identified as "needed onboarding" then that workflow would take place. Let us know if you continue to see this work incorrectly and we'll dig in further.
Adding more content here - my response is accurate but we have gone ahead and logged a ticket to investigate this further. Thank you for mentioning the onboarding workflow as a focus.
We've seen this effect as well. I'm also guessing it needs a separate script before mass migration / deployment of the new version to avoid existing systems from redoing the "onboarding app installs"

Thanks for sharing. My question is, how about the old self-service? Should it be removed automatically when out of support, or do we need to push the profile to remove it?
Once we get the admin workflows completed, which are in process as I type this, selecting which version of Self Service you wish to administrate will be identified and uninstall the version NOT selected automatically. Stay tuned for that work deliverable.
