Has there been any update on a way through the Jamf Pro website to view policies that are scoped to a group?  I've seen mentions of a feature request for that and such, but all post are multiple years old.  I was hoping maybe there was a way to do this without looking at each policy individually. Thanks

Hello All,Can we create a Advance Search or a smart group to list of Not or Either latest version of an application.Tried this combination but result null.Application Title    has      Microsoft Outlook.appandApplication Version    is not    Latest VersionNot sure where I'm doing wrong.

Our Jamf Pro managed iPads are setup to only have Jamf Self Service deployed, not the app store. The Jamf Self Service-app had the setting "Allow users to remove app (iOS 14 or later)" enabled, and some user removed the app. Is it possible to redepoy the app to the iPad, or do I have to wipe the device to do this?(I unchecked the "Allow users to remove app")

Hello! We are deploying some M1 iMacs, JSS 10.47.0 on prem. Machines are in Apple School Manager, they enroll and get profiles from the JSS, but no jamf binary is installed. Can anyone provide some hints on what to look for?I have confirmed there is no configuration profile 'requiring admin' (Application Restrictions payloads) but it seems to happening on all systems regardless of policies etc.

Having a problem with an iPad that enrolls without a problem but when I launch Self Service it gives me the following screen. Any suggestions as to why this is happening?  Thanks

Currently on 10.39. After upgrading, we noticed that the Jamf App Catalog no longer shows as an option under Mac Apps, nor are the ones I already had set up. Was this feature removed? Do I need to roll back to 10.37?

Hi.I would like to deploy a policy on all devices that prohibits connection to unencrypted Wi-Fi.Is there a way to accomplish this?

Hello,Just after enrolling the Mac on Macos 14 with Jamf prestage, there is this grey screen. (It happens just before creating the user account so when inspect this mac with jamf, there is only the management account created)On the grey screen, there is only login and password. Is there a bug ? Or does it happened to you ?

I've deployed SMART Notebook v21 and 22 in the past, but I want to get everybody upgraded to version 23. I'm ignoring the product key. The gist of it at the moment is that if I push out the v23 pkg to a device that already has v21 or v22, Jamf reports an error on install: Installation failed. The installer reported: installer: Package name is SMART Education Software installer: Upgrading at base path / installer: The upgrade failed. (The Installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance. An unexpected error occurred while moving files to the final destination.) If I install the v23 pkg and there aren't any versions already installed, the install goes fine. Here's some detail on the installer:Installs a folder called "SMART Technologies" to the Applications folder, containing a bunch of apps, and another folder with a bunch of apps. None of those app names match the name of the pkg.DMG containing base installer

Hi everyone,I was wondering if you can help me with my issue. So I'm setting up Nudge for my company and we decided to go with option 2 from the Github page. My objective is, I want the "Your Device Requires a Security Update" window to appear and to make this machine update when I press the update device button on the window.  I have a test Mac with Big Sur installed Ver 11.7. I was able to set up the policies for the Nudge suite to be installed automatically to my tester which showed in Self Service as 'installed'. I was able to set up the configuration profile which the test Mac is part of. My question is, (Which I believe is the issue) setting up the criteria in the smart group. I set the criteria the same way as in the github page suggested but it's not finding my test mac. It shows 0 computers in that group. I was wondering if you can help. I will attach screenshots of my configuration. One more question: In Application & Custom Settings - under the requiredinstallat

is anyone deploying here the the okta Verfiy App in Mac through Jamf to get the Push notification of authorization ?  and i have some queries related to enable touch id and fastpass remotely for okta Verify App in mac

I saw an old post tried to resolve the issue, but unfortunately no solution was provided. My organization is based on Google Workspace, and we have to use Gmail, Google Calendar and Chat for work, so I have to manually set up the app shortcut for each user on dock, which is time-consuming, is there anyway we can deploy the app and then add them to dock like other apps via PPPC or Dock Master?Any suggestion will be appreciated!😊

Hello all you friendly Jamf admins! I've got a problem that's stumping me and my colleague, hoping somebody here can shed some light.Recently (starting last week), I have begun encountering an issue where running sudo jamf policy produces unexpected results. When run locally, policies will fail. They attempt to run, and produce the following output, using Firefox as an example:Installing Firefox ESR 115.4.0...Installation failed. The installer reported: installer: Package name is Firefoxinstaller: Upgrading at base path /installer: The upgrade failed. (The Installer encountered an error that caused the installation of fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance. An unexpected error occurred while moving files to the final destination.)This occurs with both Chrome and Firefox, both of which I recently packaged. This occurs with both Patch Management Policies and regular Policies. I created the packages in Composer from my Applications folder, with 755 root:wheel permissions,

Hello, I found some duplication in the inventory which looks like ghost record. It shows up in the list but never opens; and I am not able to delete it in JSS web interface. Is there any easy way to delete computer inventory record via Terminal by ID #? Some command like: sudo jamf delete_computer ID=XXX Or should I deep down to MySQL? Any suggestions are highly appreciated!

In our environment we use user certs for Cisco AnyConnect. I'd like to have a policy that runs on recurring check-in that alerts the user if the cert is about to expire so that they don't lose VPN access. I thought I had this working but I think I'm running into issues accessing the user's keychain. I can understand why that's a touchy thing. However, what's curious is that I can access the user's login keychain when running the script via Self Service or if I run the policy via the command line. However, when the script is triggered via check-in, it seems to have issues accessing the user's keychain. Even doing a simple "security default-keychain" is struggling. Here's some example code: #!/bin/sh # Let's set a log file to write to logFilePath=/tmp/test.log # Get date/time stamp and kick off log file dateTimeStamp=$( date ) printf "!! Script Execution Date/Time Stamp = $dateTimeStamp !! " >> $logFilePath

Happy Monday All!My organization has about 40 TVs scattered across 21 locations all over the Upper Midwest (Minnesota, Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, North Dakota and Wisconsin). TVs are generally used in the common areas of our locations to display video content for customers and in employee break rooms.Less then a dozen of the TVs were purchased through our business account with Apple and show up in ABM and JAMF. The other 30 or so TVs were purchased from various 3rd party retailers and of course do not show up in ABM or JAMF.We've recently learned that employees at our locations have been signing into their personal AppleIDs on the TVs and signing into their personal Netflix/Hulu/HBO accounts. We want to prevent this and standardize the video content experience at each location. (We have a solution in place for the content part.)So my question is this--how can I add all of these rouge 3rd party purchased TVs to JAMF? I am hoping that it can be done remotely and that I do not have t

Hello Jamf Protect Community, I received an alert with the Description: JamfProBinaryModified.... Jamf Pro Binary Modified or Removed. Below I will copy information from the first two pages of the of the alert. Has anyone encountered this before and if so what resolution did you come to with it? It seems to be related to the appstore but I'm not sure why exactly this is happening and why Jamf Protect isn't simply marking this as Informational if that's what it is.----  Summary Page:JamfProBinaryModifiedThe Jamf binary is responsible for most of the actions taken by Jamf Pro. It is located at /usr/local/jamf/bin/jamf (alias at /usr/local/bin/jamf). If this file (or its alias) is moved or damaged, Jamf Pro will be unable to perform remote management actions. While an attacker might theoretically disable Jamf Pro to subvert its security controls, this detection is aimed at the end user disabling Jamf Pro without authorization. This detection alerts when the Jamf Pro binary

Uploading any packages via the web interface immediately fails when clicking "Save" with a message, "Package failed to upload". Tried different browser, different computers, different PKGs, all the same result. The packages are not large or exotic. Any ideas?

We successfully upgraded our on-prem environment to 11.0.1 last week and have noticed an odd issue with a number of machines showing no values for any extension attributes. Out of about 2000 current machines, it only appears to have affected about 180 or so. Manually running a recon on the machines has fixed most of them and I created a policy to just run recon as a process (not from maintenance) adn that seems to be slowly whittling them down and getting most of them back. Anyone else seen anything like this?

We have folder restrictions on student's laptops. Anyone knows the location to this Photoshop PSCustomHook that I can whitelist?

My school is facing a management issue where many students are using Google Chrome's extensions feature to download VPN software. Is it possible to disable the installation of extensions from the Web Store on all student computers using Jamf Pro? Also, is there a way to disable the Chrome auto update?
