Binding using script or configuration profile

Hello Everyone,

We are revisiting our binding activity. As it is now, we use a policy to control when the binding occurs. However, with the new secure binding coming to our servers, we are trying to find a new methodology.

It appears both our test script and test configuration profile will get us what we need. I am wondering what others are doing. At first, it seems the profile might be better as it is simpler to setup and when you remove the profile, the computer is also removed from AD. I just don't want to go through a process where I will regret it later on down the road.

Thoughts?

I have thought about switching from the built-in directory binding feature of Jamf to using the configuration profile method - I haven't had a chance to do any testing on it yet, but what happens when you remove MDM and readd MDM? Does it unbind and rebind the computer when using a config profile?
