Microsoft User Data - exclude from syncing

Looking for input and insight on best practices for handling the "Microsoft User Data" folder. We have network accounts and sync the users documents folder but I am concerned about corrupting the Outlook 2011 database. I know in the Windows world it is generally a bad idea to sync a .pst over the network as it can lead to corruption.

I have created a configuration profile to exclude this folder but am curious to hear how others handle this situation.

We currently skip it as well, however....

I've been told that if you sync the entire folder and it is used on the same version of office you should have no issues with syncing or backing it up. We will be trying to incorporate this later in the year, as I know our users would love us :) lol
